Technology

Technology is the key and core of your digital strategy. But do not implement technical solutions just for the purpose of being digital or cloud.

It is important to define your functional strategy and architecture, first before selecting your technology platforms. Technology should follow your business.

This does not mean that you should not leverage new technologies like Big Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Software as a Service. But you need to make sure that it fits to your demand and challenges.

Functional Design / Architecture

Technical Architecture
As a next step you need to identify what kind of technologies can help you realize your designed architecture (e.g. a workflow automation tool, a one-stop shop frontend with self services and self help for employees, a centralized data store collecting all relevant HR data + a prediction tool).

Solution decision
Now that you know what kind of technology you need to create the value for your business, you need to identify software and hardware partners (e.g. ServiceNow, SAP Hana) and get procurement and paperwork done. Always make sure that you do not get trapped in a provider and that you can easily move your data.
